Massage Therapy

There are many benefits to receiving a regular massage. Massage in conjunction with regular spinal manipulation treatments offers a drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
After receiving massage clients feel rejuvenated, relaxed, and refreshed. By opting for a few lifestyle choices, you can extend these benefits and get the most out of your massage.

Benefits

Increases circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into your tissues and vital organs
Stimulates the flow of lymph, the body’s natural defense system, against toxic invaders
Relaxes and softens injured and overused muscles
Reduces spasms and cramping
Increases joint flexibility
Reduces recovery time, helps prepare for strenuous workouts and eliminates subsequent pains of the athlete at any level
Releases endorphins aiding in healing injuries and recovery from surgery to control and relieve pain
Improves range-of-motion and decreases discomfort for patients with low back pain
Relieves pain for migraine sufferers and decreases the need for medication

Maintenance

Whether you get a massage weekly, monthly, or just every once in a while; the following habits can maximize and extend the afterglow of treatment:

Water- One bit of advice you’ll hear over and over again is to drink plenty of water. This is a must, as the massage releases toxins, such as lactic acid and carbonic acid, which needs to be flushed from the body. Massage also promotes circulation, increasing blood flow and oxygen and stimulating the lymphatic system, which helps rid the body of pathogens. After massage hydration supports these functions, helping to eliminate released impurities, sooner rather than later.
Exercise- Working out can also help maintain the benefits of massage, and this habit should be continually cultivated. One exception is that if you are receiving massage therapy to help speed muscle strain recovery, you may need to ease up on exercise for a while to give your body time to heal.

Body Awareness- After a massage, respect how your body feels. If your body wants rest, honor its request. Be sure to get sufficient sleep to allow the body to absorb the effect and regain vitality.
Diet- Finally, after ridding the body of toxins, support its renewed state by adhering to a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables. This will continue the detoxification process.

Orthotics

Functional orthotics are prescription "shoe inserts." They’re custom-made to easily slide into your shoe and support the unique shape of your feet. They replace the generic insole included with shoes and are designed to align your spine, hips, and neck, as well as secure Chiropractic adjustments beyond the adjusting table.

Just as everyone has a unique personality, everyone has a unique body structure and foot shape. This benefit of using custom-made orthotics, rather than generic, mass-produced ones, is that they’re perfectly fitted to you.
Chiropractors aren’t just interested in the back- they’re trained to view the body as a whole structure, with every joint, muscle, tendon, and bone working in unison to keep your body on the move. The feet are the foundation of your body, so ensuring they stay healthy and problem-free benefits your entire body.

K-Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to stimulate the body’s natural ability to heal. The effects of laser energy include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling.
Class IV K-Laser Therapy is an FDA cleared therapeutic treatment that manages pain and inflammation while accelerating tissue regeneration. Laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasm, stiffness and pain.
